This is the 1,000th article published on Positive Psychology News Daily.
We presented lots of PPND numbers on our 5th birthday in January 2012, so we’ll just add an update here: we’ve had nearly 962,000 unique visitors and almost 2,200,000 pages read. We have 88 authors, more than 6,200 daily subscribers, and just over 8,000 comments.
We want to give a big shout out to the people who have written comments on PPND. Some comments are challenges that keep us honest, other comments are appreciative of a job well done, and still other comments are mini-articles in their own right. Thank you!Because this is the 1000th article, we are going to give away two books on July 1. The two winners will each get to choose one book from the set of books written by PPND authors that are shown below. If you’re reading this in your email, click here to see the books by PPND authors.
For the first book, we’ll draw a name from the set of all who comment here by the end of June 30, 2012. We invite you to post a comment to this article about any aspect of your experience with PPND. Suggested topics:
- Name your favorite article and explain why you like it. Here’s a list by category of all 999 articles, or you could look through the calendar indices to remember what’s been published before.
- Answer one or more of these three appreciative-inquiry questions about PPND. (Deborah Maher uses these questions in her explanation of the Destiny stage of Appreciative Inquiry.)
- What worked?
- What could be even better?
- What do we do right now?
For the second book, we’ll use Feedblitz to select one of our subscribers.
Let’s end with our thanks: Thanks to the 88 authors for capturing stories of positive psychology research. Thanks to the commenters who lead us in new directions. Thanks to the tweeters and Facebook-likers who get the word around. Thanks to the researchers who explore the whole field of well-being. Thanks to the practitioners who keep thinking of ways to use the research to enhance the lives of the public.

Kathryn and Senia, readers, contributors, writers:
Congratulations on the 1,000th milestone. It’s a pleasure to be part of the PPND community.
Here’s to another 1,000 articles.
(please exclude me from the draw)

Congratulations from Scotland (and indeed from France). There has been a tremendous amount of work behind this – not to mention, resilience, wisdom, love of learning and some 21 other strengths you have shown.
Best aye
Angus
Way to go, Senia and Kathryn, and thanks for the opportunity to be part of this vibrant community of thinkers and doers 🙂
What a wonderful experience – 1000 articles. I’m so glad I’ve joined this site as it provides much food for thought and daily living. I’ve also found it really great for teaching purposes. Here in hong Kong the students who took Positive Psychology have brought about amazing changes in their stressful lives and found all sorts of creative ways to remain healthy and to flourish. So thanks to all you wonderful authors who spread the good news and help us all.
Well done to all of you and many, many thanks from Cape Town, South Africa to all the contributors; awesome when you look at the list! What I like? It’s so good to receive and read input that I can look forward to being sage, constructive and for betterment, as opposed to much of what today’s media serves up. And I appreciate it being bite-sized; just right to flavour the day!
Congrats from Wellington, New Zealand! We have been running a Positive Psychology programme at Marsden School now for over 2 years and love the snippets we receive from your news posts. We have used several ideas. Well done and thanks to all who contribute.
Congratulations on 1000 articles. The ones I like the best are the book reviews. My husband take a couple of long drives a year together. I like to get books on tape. My husband’s not a reader, so I like to get a positive psychology book on tape to “brainwash” him into my way of viewing life. I think he’s starting to get it. The reviews help me pick books that would best keep his attention. Keep up the good work and best wishes for the next 1000 articles.
I just want to say, Thank you! I look forward to my PPND emails.
Thank you and Congratulations!
PPND truly is a wonderful resource. It’s a catalyst for researchers, a goldmine for practitioners, and a wealth of material for educators.
Keep up the outstanding work,
Ryan
Congrats! Great collection of articles to read in your archives! Looking forward to more.
Congratulations and thank you to Kathryn and Senia and all the contributors to PPND. Not only is it an amazing resource but a wonderful community.
Cheers Kathryn and Senia! Happy 1000th and congratulations to you, your authors and community!
Just wanted to say congratulations!
Read this last week, but just got time to finally comment 🙂
Thanks for the great work… always!
Best,
