Worrell is passionately committed to private, social sector solutions to community problems, with a special concern for increasing access to higher education. His social sector leadership has included chairing the Board of Trustees of Saint Michael’s College, and chairing the Board of Trustees of The Landing School of Boatbuilding & Design (ACCSC accredited). Worrell is also a member of the Board of Directors of several privately owned companies.
Examples of articles he recently authored or co-authored include: “Entrepreneur Strengths Study: Results from a Preliminary Study of the Character Strengths and Grit-S Scales of Seasoned Entrepreneurs,” and “Acquirers at the Ready: For-Profit Higher Education.”
Worrell earned the degree of Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Business Administration from Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Michael’s College. He has been awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence, honoris causa from Saint Michael’s College.
With his bride Kareen, a family practice physician, Worrell lives on the Seacoast of New Hampshire. They are avid cruising sailors and have sailed from Newfoundland and Labrador to the West Indies, in the South Pacific, Ireland, the sub-Antarctic, New Zealand and the U.K. He is committed to physical fitness and enjoys lifelong learning, frequent travel, skiing, frugality, scuba diving, reading, and music.
