Derrick Carpenter, MAPP ’07, is a founder of Vive Training where he coaches individuals and corporate clients on creating high-engagement lifestyles through physical and psychological wellness. Derrick also facilitates resilience and optimism training for the US Army.
 

Previously, Derrick served as the Executive Officer for Team Concepts, Inc. where he managed leadership development training for corporations and business schools including Wharton, Columbia, and Darden. Derrick has worked in psychology labs at Harvard, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania researching intelligence, learning, and human ability. Derrick has also consulted with Leadership Philadelphia and the VIA Institute on Character and has assisted in teaching positive psychology to undergraduates at the University of Pennsylvania.

As an athletic enthusiast, Derrick was voted Most Inspirational by his college crew team, is an avid multi-national touring cyclist, and is a certified personal trainer. Derrick holds a B.S. in Mathematics from MIT and a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania .
