Positive Psychology News is authored by alumni or students at the Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) programs and by invited guest authors.
Positive Psychology News Daily provides the latest news about happiness, the science of happiness, and positive psychology. Our goal is to be your fun, collaborative place for a research-based daily boost of happiness.
What is Positive Psychology
Positive psychology is the study of what makes life worth living. Many research methods are used to check hypotheses about well-being, including cross-sectional studies, longitudinal studies, and qualitative studies.
In recognition that positive psychology is evidence-based, we include at least one reference to research with every article. There is plenty of opinion and story here, but there is also a research foundation.
What is MAPP?
There are many worldwide Masters of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) programs where students learn about well-being and the underlying research. The original launched by Martin Seligman (MAPP at the University of Pennsylvania) has been running since 2005 and has produced nearly 700 graduates. For information about about these graduates, check out the Penn MAPP Alumni Directory. Many articles on this site were written by Penn MAPP graduates and from the (MAPP program at the University of East London).
