Reprint Policy

We welcome our articles being reprinted in other online publications. For most articles, there is no need to ask for permission, as long as you following the guidelines below. For some of the articles published before October 2008, it is necessary to ask the author’s permission. Whether you need to ask the author or not is specified in the author’s short biography at the top of the article.

To quote segments of an article:

  • Please reference PositivePsychologyNews.com as the place where the original article was published.
  • If the reprint is online, please link back to the original article. You may want to mention that there is often a comment stream there.
  • Please feature the author’s name and date of publication clearly.
  • In order to keep your reprint in good copyright standing, include the attributions from the end of the document for any images that appear in the segment you reprint. Generally these are images with a Creative Commons license that gives permission for use as long as provide proper attribution is provided.

For reprints of the full text of an article:

  • Please print the entire article (to edit articles before reprinting, please contact the editor to make sure that the summary content is similar enough to the original: emailing the editor).
  • Please reference PositivePsychologyNews.com as the place where the original article was published.
  • If the reprint is online, please link back to the original article.
  • Please feature the author’s name and date of publication clearly.
     

    EXAMPLE: This article authored by Senia Maymin was originally published here on PositivePsychologyNews.com on January 1, 2007.
